Dr. Raj Shree Dhar, (M.Sc., M.Phil., Ph.D. in Mathematics) is Principal, Higher Education Department, J & K Government, Jammu & Kashmir, India. At Present, she is posted as Nodal Officer, J & K Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Sub-Office Jammu, J & K. She has done M. Phil. in Mathematics on the topic “Location of the zeros of the polynomials in complex variables” in 1986 and Ph. D. in Mathematics on the topic “Shared values and Differential Polynomials of the Entire and Meromorphic functions” from Jammu University. She started teaching PG Mathematics to school teachers in 1987 at Centre for Advanced Studies in Educational Technology, Karanagar, Srinagar and was selected as Lecturer, Vishwa Bharti Women’s college, Rainawari Srinagar in 1988. She was selected as Lecturer, Higher Education Department, J&K Government in 1991. She has done certificate course in BASIC Computers in 1988-89 CASET Computer Centre, Karannagar, Srinagar.
She is second female in the State who did Ph. D. from J & K Universities in January, 1995. She has organized various workshops, conferences, activities in the college and acted as convener/ member in different committees for which she received Best Teacher Award in 2008 and Certificate of Efficiency in 2004. She has acted as resource person in Institutions and Radio and T.V. Channel for disseminating the knowledge about Career in Mathematics. She has published research papers in journals of National and International Repute. She has guided 7 M.Phil. Students. She writes for local dailies on the importance of Mathematics, Astronomy and about Education system. Her published books include An Inquiry into Evolution of Mathematics , Gateway to Complex Analysis. She is Associate Editor for Higher Education News, JK Knowledge Initiative, the research journal of HED, and the journal of Mathematics and Computer Sciences.
Dr. Pragya Khanna is an Associate Professor in Zoology at Govt. College for Women, Parade Ground, Jammu (J&K). She has over forty research papers, more than 3000 popular articles published in local Newspapers, magazines and websites, five books and five monographs to her credit. She has been awarded twenty one (21) times by different scientific, academic and allied agencies/societies for her research/scholastic work at State, National and International levels. She is the recipient of prestigious SWARNA JAYANTI PURUSKAR by The National Academy of Sciences, India, YOUNG SCIENTIST AWARD by All India Congress of Zoology twice for two consecutive years and INNOVATIVE SCIENCE TEACHER AWARD-2011 by the J&K State Council for Science and Technnology, Dept. of Science and Technology, J&K besides receiving other awards and recognitions.
She is Member, Editorial Board, Board of Councillors, Associate Editor, Reviewer for over a dozen, high Impact, peer reviewed National, International journals. Besides, she is Life Member of a number of scientific societies, associations and organizations.
She has attended over 70 conferences/seminars in different parts of India and abroad and has presented papers, delivered invited talks/guest lectures and has chaired sessions.
She has 18 Years of research experience on Cytology of Chironomids and Environmental assessment of Major and minor water bodies of Jammu region with special reference to heavy metals, pesticides and industrial effluents. She has worked on a number of projects funded by DST and UGC on the above mentioned aspects. Dr. Khanna has reported 14 new species of an insect called Chironomus from Jammu and Kashmir, out of which 7 form the first time reports from the world. Recently, she has been awarded the Doctorate of Letters (D.Litt.) by the University of South America.
Dr. Abdul Qayoom Khatayee @ Shafaq sopori associate professor in urdu. A poet and author of repute.Famous for his distinct style in poetry and prose. He is auther of ten books. Critics of high stature have aknowleged his contribution in the field of literature. He has been awarded by state cultural academy for his contribution in the field of literature. Moreover he has bagged Khelata.i.Mehjoor ,Sanadi Iftikhar by state government and Bakhshi Memorial award. He has been participating in all india mushairas and seminars and conferences of national level. He is a fiction writer also. His novel Neelima has been appreciated by eminent critics of urdu.Besides this he has written satire and humour also. Presently he is working on his novel Kashmir 1990. His third poetry collection is coming soon. Dr.Shafaq has a good hold on Indian classical music.He has done his Ph.d on a very noval topic like Urdu gazal main Hindustani Mousiqi ke Anasir.He is a critic and researcher also.Folloing is the list of his publications.
